Chapter 87 : How many suitable women you plan to seduce
Just as Winnie was lost in thought, Shikondell suddenly pressed her hand against his shoulder and brushed past him.
Naturally, Winnie could only solve things by himself, because under such circumstances, his teammate likely wouldn't be able to help at all.
Thus, when Shikondell suddenly pressed down on his shoulder from behind, Winnie was visibly startled. After all, this was completely unlike something Shikondell would ever do.
Then it hit him, a possibility.
“I'm betting neither of you will score a single point from now on.” Shikondell curled her lips, her usual gentle almond-shaped eyes now brimming with an aggressive and defiant smirk.

Whaaat?!
Winnie's eyes widened in shock.

That tone, so familiar yet strangely foreign. Could it be… Dark Dell had taken over?!
Winnie sucked in a sharp breath.
What the hell was going on? Why had Dark Dell suddenly appeared? This wasn't even a life-threatening situation! It was just a hunting points test with no danger at all!
“Oh?!” The two students were equally stunned by Shikondell's sudden change. After all, they were classmates. They knew exactly how Shikondell normally acted. To put it bluntly, this delicate moon elf resembled a shy little girl, timid as a quail, extremely introverted.

Aside from speaking with Winnie, and Milian, another elf, ‘he' barely interacted with anyone else. Whenever someone addressed her directly, she would stammer nervously and glance at Winnie for approval.
She was practically Winnie's shadow, utterly harmless aside from her stunning beauty.
Everyone, aside from admiring her looks, regards her merely as an innocent mascot, peaceful, powerless, and virtually invisible in class unless you notice her striking appearance. Without her good looks, she'd be completely unnoticed.
Pretty, yes, but unfortunately, she was a boy. Although admittedly, that might appeal to certain niche preferences.

In short, everyone saw her as nothing more than a non-threatening mascot. Her current behavior shocked the two Imperial students who were most familiar with her usual demeanor.
Especially that intensely proactive expression, it felt completely out of place on Shikondell's face. The contrast was jarring, creating an uncanny sense of dissonance. Yet, if one broke past their preconceptions, it somehow made perfect sense.

“Hahaha, Dell, I thought you were the quiet, shy type, didn't expect you to be such a big talker!” The Imperial student gasped, clearly unimpressed after a brief moment of surprise.
“Yeah, right? Usually so shy and timid like a little girl, how come you're spouting nonsense so boldly now?” The other chimed in mockingly.
“Big talk? Hehehe… You two foolish humans… I'll make you regret those words by this afternoon!” Shikondell laughed with genuine delight, exuding overwhelming confidence. So much so that the two students began doubting whether they'd ever truly understood Shikondell before, was this her real self all along?
“Fine then. We'll see who's laughing at the end.” Naturally, the student didn't believe her. They couldn't imagine how this mascot-like elf, who had always been unassuming and looked so easy to bully, could possibly outmaneuver them. At the core, they simply didn't believe this delicate, seemingly fragile “cross-dressing boy” had any real power.
And even if she did, so what? The competition rules clearly stated that students were forbidden from attacking one another. Violators would cross Carillian Academy's red line, facing expulsion at minimum, and possible trial if injuries or deaths occurred.
Harming innocents was a serious crime anywhere.

“Um… Dell…?” Winnie hesitated, unsure what to call her now. Addressing her as “Dell” like usual felt awkward, but calling her “Dark Dell” directly? That didn't seem right either.
“Shh.” Before Winnie could step closer, Shikondell turned around, her slender index finger pressed gently against his chin, her expression relaxed. “Leave it to me. Just stay quiet and watch.”
“Ah… Huh?” Winnie was at a loss for words.
Then he watched as Shikondell approached the two students, tilting her head upward and staring at them with a deeply meaningful gaze.
“W-what are you doing?!” For some reason, both students felt a sudden discomfort. Despite this overly delicate, effeminate moon self being much shorter than them, her presence was overwhelming, completely overpowering theirs.
“Don't forget the competition rules! If you attack us, our magic cards will detect it immediately, and the instructors will come rushing!” the student warned.

But it sounded more like a cornered beast making a desperate last stand, loud threats masking inner fear.
“Don't be nervous,” Shikondell said, tilting her head with a slight smirk. “You were so full of bold words just now, why so cowardly now? Where's your manhood?”

“W-who's cowardly?! And, excuse me, you're the least manly one here, Moon Elf!” the student shot back. “Us human men have way more masculinity than your sissy elf men!”
“Is that so?” Shikondell waved her hand, and two seed-like objects flew and attached themselves to the two students.
“W-what did you do?!” The students panicked immediately. “You broke the rules! I'm reporting this! You attacked other students!”
“Hey now, Mr. Self-Proclaimed Manly Man, don't rush so fast. Which eye saw me attacking you?” Shikondell laughed.

“You just cast magic on us! Isn't that an attack?!” The student frantically checked his body, but couldn't locate the seeds that had landed on him.
They grew even more anxious. It was said that elven magic worked differently from human magic, while human spells focused on direct destruction, elven magic often carried troublesome lingering effects that were extremely hard to shake off once attached.
“Yes, I cast magic, no denying that. But it wasn't an offensive spell. I caused you no harm, imposed no restrictions. Quite the opposite, I just cast a protective spell on you both,” Shikondell arched her delicate eyebrow. “Protective and buff magic isn't prohibited. The rules only forbid attacking classmates, not protecting them from harm, right?”
“Protective magic? Buff magic?!” The two students stared at each other in disbelief.

“That's right. You'll understand the effect soon enough. This is pure protection magic,” Shikondell said, but her smirk, hand resting on her chest, and haughty expression made it nearly impossible to believe.
“We don't want any protection or buffs! Remove it right now, or we'll report you and get your competition disqualified! This is a serious violation!”

“Go ahead and report me. I'll be waiting. But when the instructors check and find out it's not an offensive spell, guess who they'll accuse of false reporting and disqualify instead?” Shikondell grinned.
“You!” The two students clenched their jaws.
Truthfully, Shikondell's argument had them rattled.
“I already told you, it's a protective spell, an act of care and concern for my classmates. It definitely doesn't count as attacking. Don't believe me? Just walk a few steps. You'll see,” Shikondell said with a smile.
Unlike Aesphyra's calm, elegant, and poised smile, Dark Dell's grin radiated wildness and dominance, utterly opposite to the timid, submissive Shikondell.
“Winnie, let's go. Ignore them,” Shikondell declared after finishing, not caring about the two students' reactions. She grabbed Winnie's hand and walked off.

Before, Winnie had always been the one leading. Now, the roles had reversed, Shikondell was clearly in charge.
“Wait! Elf! Did you curse us?! Remove this magic right now!”
“I already said, it's not a curse, it's a blessing. And do you really think I'd waste a permanent blessing on trash like you? Dream on. Delusional humans, ugly and overconfident. I feel like I wasted even a drop of mana on you. This blessing won't last beyond today,” Shikondell sneered, flicked her ponytail, and walked away.
“S-so… what do we do now?” Once the two were out of earshot, one of the students whispered nervously.
“What else can we do? Follow them, obviously! You think that moon elf can just do whatever she wants? She doesn't have the guts! We're taking their points today, let's see what they can do about it!” the other scoffed.
“Anyway, our rank is below theirs. They can't challenge us, but we can mess with them. That's called an unbeatable position. Get it?”

“Y-yeah, yeah.” Although it was just a test, the results counted toward their class ranking, even if only slightly. But annoying Winnie was worth it in their eyes.

“Thump!” Winnie was gently pushed against an old tree by Shikondell.
“Oww?!” Staring into those familiar yet intensely aggressive eyes just inches from his face, Winnie was still dazed.
Never in his life did he expect to be cornered like this by Shikondell.
"Long time no see, huh? Human. Miss me?" Shikondell grinned, tilting her head with a wicked smirk.

“U-uh… y-yeah, long time no see?” Winnie staggered, trying to greet her but unsure how.
“Um… Dell… no, wait, Dark Dell? Is Dell okay? Why did you suddenly appear?” Winnie asked.
“What, after all this time apart, your first question is why I showed up?” Shikondell clicked her tongue.
“N-no! I didn't mean it like that. I just thought, this isn't exactly a life-or-death situation?”

“Tch. I can only come out in life-or-death situations? Since when did you make the rules?” Shikondell shot him with a sidelong glance.
“I… didn't.” Honestly, Dark Dell's aggression was overwhelming, every word shut him up completely.

“That little one desperately wanted to help you but couldn't. I couldn't stand it, so I took over. Besides,” Shikondell explained, “I think it's about time I showed up again.”
“Huh?” Winnie clearly didn't understand the second half.
“Tsk tsk. Human, you're really playing around, aren't you? Not only does that mysterious silver-haired green tea girl cling to you, but now even the princess of the Tyrell Empire is drawn to you? How many more women do you plan to seduce?” Shikondell sneezed.
“I didn't seduce anyone!”
“Don't lie. Not seducing? You think I'm stupid?” Shikondell pinched his chin between two fingers, silencing Winnie instantly. “Don't think that just because I'm not around, you can do whatever you want. Understand?”
“I—”

“Shut up.” Shikondell bared a fiercely possessive grin. “That little fool might not see it, but do you think I can't? You think your actions escape my notice? Yours, and those two human women, I see it all, crystal clear.”
“They are all women I know what they are thinking.”
“You're my prey. Got it?”
"..." Winnie had no idea how to respond.
Alright, he understood Dark Dell was created to protect Shikondell, but still, she was way too aggressive. And kind of… unhinged.
“So… what exactly did you do to those two earlier?” Winnie changed the subject.

“Oh? Want to know?” Shikondell chuckled.
“U-uh… not that curious, actually. Maybe we should just go hunting? We still have zero points. We can't go back with a zero score, right?” Winnie suggested.

"No need. Pointless. We just have to wait. Even if we barely try, we'll end up with a decent score," Shikondell said with a smile.
“Huh? Really? Why?” Winnie still didn't get it.
“You'll see soon enough,” Shikondell said meaningfully. “Those two fools will soon pay the price for their actions.”
