A red number has hovered in the corner of my right field of vision ever since I was born. It decreases with every passing hour, counting down the time I have left to live.

I’ve tried everything I could think of to survive, but the number has never increased; not even once. Then, with less than ten hours remaining, I finally resigned myself to my fate.

That was when I heard it.

Ring-a-ling!

The moment I stole something, the number increased. The harder it was to steal, the more valuable it was, and the worse the person it belonged to, the more time I gained.

“…This f*king system is insane.”

If stealing is the only way I can survive, then I’ll rob them more thoroughly than anyone else.

And I’ll do it gladly.
